The Parkallen Community League plays a big role in helping neighbors get to know one another and in helping local adults and children remain active. From Pilates and yoga classes to youth nights and a winter green shack, there is always something to do in Parkallen.
Let’s face it, most kids are horse crazy (as are many adults!). If yours is among them and you buy a house in Parkallen, you’ll be less than 10 minutes from the Whitemud Equine Learning Center which helps folks of all ages discover the joys of equine sports. They offer lessons as well as therapeutic riding sessions.
Schools in Parkallen
There is one school in Parkallen, the Parkallen School, administered by Edmonton Public Schools. Here, children in grades Kindergarten through 6, undertake a rigorous yet personalized curriculum. The school offers the Opportunity Program as well, which assists those students that need some extra help. Parkallen School also offers the Mandarin Bilingual Program for Kindergarten through grade 1 students.
Parents of high school graduates won’t need to endure the empty nest syndrome if their child decides to attend the University of Alberta, as it’s located 10 to 15 minutes north of the community. Unless, of course, you long for an empty nest, in which case, consider purchasing an investment condo for your college-bound offspring.
