Aldergrove Edmonton Homes For Sale
Don’t let the quiet vibe fool you as you tour Edmonton’s Aldergrove neighbourhood. This west-side community is brimming with active residents who are ecstatic that they don’t need to go far from home to have fun.
Development began here in the 1970s, so you won’t find the volume of historic buildings that you will in other Edmonton neighborhoods, but what you will find are charming homes, many of which are reasonably priced for the first-time homebuyer.
More than half of the homes in Aldergrove are single-family residences. The rest of the homes are townhouses, row houses and condos (these are mainly found near the commercial area of the neighborhood).
Prices are quite affordable, with single-family homes for sale often offered in the low $200,000s. You may need to repaint or perform minor repairs but for that price, you’ll build instant equity.
Townhouses are a popular choice among Aldergrove home buyers. Primrose Gardens offers inexpensive starter homes while Springfield Place has homes that back to green space and walking trails at, again, first-time homebuyer prices.
If being located close to medical facilities is important to you and your family, you’ll be happy to know that Primrose Medical Clinic is located right here in the neighborhood. But that’s just the start of what Aldergrove has to offer its residents.
The area around the medical center offers a pharmacy, eateries and shops. Best of all, they’re all on the transit line so you won’t need to drive to run your errands.
Aldergrove is home to two parks, Adergrove and Primrose. The latter offers much-used baseball and soccer fields, and a fun children’s play area that even includes old-fashioned tire swings. The construction of Aldergrove Park involved turning a gravel pit into a gorgeous spot with a lovely pond for local residents.
Schools in Aldergrove
Aldergrove’s lone public school, Aldergrove School, serves neighbourhood children in grades Kindergarten through 6. In addition to academics, the school offers learning programs for those with behavioural issues and for those who speak English as a second language.
Students love the various special events, theatrical performances, clubs and field trips. Parent appreciate that Aldergrove School participates in The Leader in Me, based on Stephen Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”
Upon completion of elementary school, Aldergrove public school students enter Hillcrest Junior High School and then Jasper Place High.
